The town of Oberammergau, Germany has performed a Passion Play since 1634 in thanksgiving to God for saving the town from the Plague. At first performed yearly, the play has been performed every 10 years since 1680, with few exceptions. One exception being the delay of two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our pilgrimage group attended the Passion Play in June 2022 and visited the quaint countryside, villages and churches in Bavaria and southern Germany. We visited Dachau in Munich, and then drove through the Alps of Switzerland and down into Milan in northern Italy, where we visited the shrine and tomb of St. Gianna Beretta Molla in Mesero. Thanks to Steve & Janet Ray of Footprints of God Pilgrimages for an lovely trip! Click picture to view full size.
